Costa Del Mar Sunglass Fish || NYC, 2014

Design & Fabrication || Produced at McConnell & Borow Inc.

At Mcconnell and Borow/Propart NYC I assisted in the making of fifteen massive fish sculptures constructed out of Costa Del Mar Sunglasses. To spearhead the project I was assigned to fully construct the thirteen foot long Blue Fin Tuna and assisted in the building and design of the Steelhead and the thirteen, four foot long Bonefish which were to be gifted to company Costa Del Mar executives.

Once again, the team at McConnell & Borow, Inc./PropArt were called upon to create three fish using lenses, stems and other sunglass parts. This short film documents the fabrication of one* of the fish: a Bluefin Tuna. The 8 foot (plus) long behemoth was assembled from over 1,500 lenses, and took a team of eight model makers dabbing and dapping to reel it into completion. Please enjoy photographer Adrian Mueller's "Making Of" film. *Watch out for the other two fish, coming soon!
